Pirates Invade in Treasure Cove at Shanghai Disneyland

We've seen some specifics for Shanghai Disneyland's castle, entrance area, and a bit about the Fantasyland area, but Disney has finally given us a look at a new part of the park.

Above is some freshly released concept art of Treasure Cove, a section of the theme park dedicated to Pirates.  The land will have a Pirates of the Caribbean type ride and several themed food and retail outlets.

The e-ticket attraction will formally be named Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle of the Sunken Treasure.  Do not expect a clone of the Pirates rides found in the other Disney parks, as Shanghai's will be totally unique and themed only to the movie franchise.

"The attraction will feature a combination of new technology and innovation to bring guests along a pirate adventure with Captain Jack Sparrow and Captain Davy Jones, providing our guests who visit the Shanghai Disneyland Park an experience unlike anything else in the world."

Several rumors have been floating around with regard to the attraction's ride system - possibly a water based omnimover - which seems capable of some neat tricks and will certainly impress.  The massive show building has started to go up for Pirates, a photo of which can be seen on the Disney Parks Blog.
